Replying is always free at Lavalife. You pay for each person you want to contact, and once you have made contact with someone you can exchange messages freely with eachother forever. The cost for each connection is 6 credits, which equates to roughly $1.50. Lavalife started began as a phone dating service back in the 1980's. A Toronto-based company, it has grown to become the standard for online dating in Canada. The number one dating site in Canada still has a presense elsewhere, including the USA where it is in the top ten in terms of size. This equates to many members - over 1.3 million to be more precise. Lavalife is great for those who are relatively new to dating. There is a bit of mystery allowed - you can hide your profile so that only those who you have made contact with can see you, and when you view or save a profile the owner is not notified. The fact that you pay for what you use means you aren't under any pressure to "get your money's worth", and can go at your own pace. Be warned: "Lavalifing" is fun and can be addictive. People who use it usually come back, and are sometimes only interested in others like themselves who have been through similar experiences.
